Ethos

I believe that your child will learn best when motivated and excited about their piano journey, so I favour a gentle, encouraging, and patient approach - but I will be pushing for real progress, too!

I hope to communicate something of my own love for the piano to your child in all my lessons, but there is no one right way to teach the piano, so I'm happy to adapt my teaching style to my students, especially for beginners.

Lessons

I am offering lessons for classical piano both to total beginners and and those already with some piano ability, up to a lower intermediate level (grade 4 or equivalent).

I find that once a firm piano foundation has been established, the grade structure provides a useful pathway to continue, but it is by no means necessary to improve. The precise content of my lessons is very much up for discussion!
